An electric forklift is designed to operate for one shift and then be charged on the next shift or overnight. Some employers routinely change batteries instead of charging them in the vehicle. The discharged battery is removed from the forklift and a charged battery is installed in its place. This charging and discharging processes are continuously done over a year. After two to three years batteries start giving less back up due to sulfation which is deposited on the plates. So normally companies or battery users replace these low backup batteries with new batteries. Sometimes battery cells are dead, in such cases we first regenerate remaining cells and then place new cells.
